Created to commemorate the centennial, in 2004, of the adoption of the Maryland state flag. Red, White, Black, and Gold for the Crossland and Calvert arms, which appear quartered in the Maryland state flag. Navy Blue for the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Blue and Azure (Light Blue) for the waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
